Trois jeunes gays condamnés à la peine de mort par pendaison en Iran: svp aidez à tenter de les sauver

L'Iran prépare une fois de plus une exécution de jeunes hommes homosexuels arrêtés alors qu'ils étaient mineurs.

Coupables de ‘lavat’ (c-à-d. actes sexuels entre deux hommes, nonobstant s'il y a pénétration ou pas), les 3 adolescents ne connaissent pas encore la date de leur meurtre dont l'Etat paie la facture, mais selon l'agence Human Rights Watch et le Iranian Railroad for Queer Refugees la pendaison pourrait avoir lieu n'importe quand, sans aucun préavis.

Ils sont Mehdi P., de Tabriz; Moshen G., de Shiraz; et Nemat Safavi, d'Ardebil et qui est détenu depuis plus de trois ans.

Selon la loi iranienne, le lavat est “punissable par la peine de mort à condition que les deux partenaires, l'actif et le passif sont majeurs, d'esprits sains, et ont agi de leur propre volonté” — ce qui, non seulement, entre en conflit avec l'âge des garçons au moment des présumés "délits", mais aussi constitue une grosse violation du droit international qui interdit, en toutes circonstances, l'exécution des mineurs.

En 2008, l'assistant du procureur général de l'Iran annonçait que les autorités judiciaires iraniennes banniraient la peine de mort des mineurs pour les offenses non reliées à un meurtre, effective immédiatement, à condition que le Parlement l'approuve. L'Iran a signé deux traités internationaux sur la protection des enfants.

Nemat Safavi fait partie de la liste d'Amnesty International de mineurs qui attendent d'être exécutés en Iran. Le parlement européen, les Nations Unies et Shirin Ebadi, gagnante iranienne du prix Nobel de la paix, ont tous demandé à l'Iran de cesser les exécutions de mineurs.

Que puis-je faire

    * alerter les médias (il n'y a eu presque pas de couverture médiatique)
    * contacter les embassades iraniennes (le site a des liens)

On retrouve aussi un avatar (I ? Nemat) pouvant être utilisé dans divers médias web.

Les sites LGBT espagnols, français et italiens ainsi que certains sites progressistes de ces pays -- et quelques autres pays -- ont dénoncé ces cas.

IRQR demande des donations qui devraient aider les dossiers judiciaires en Iran. Ils lancent aussi un appel à “tous les organismes de droits humains de prendre action dans cette cause urgente. Nous demandons aux gens d'écrire, d'envoyer des fax, d'appeler ou d'envoyer des courriels à Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, ou tout autre organisme LGBT et/ou international pour soutenir Nemat et s'opposer vigoureusement son exécution et les lois contre l'homosexualité.”

Three gay teenagers are on death row in Iran: please help to try and save them

Iran is preparing once again to execute young gay men arrested while they were a minor.

Guilty of ‘lavat’ (i.e. sexual conduct between two men, regardless of penetration), the three teenagers do not yet have dates set for their state-sponsored murders, but according to Human Rights Watch and Iranian Railroad for Queer Refugees it could happen any day with no warning.

They are Mehdi P., from Tabriz; Moshen G., from Shiraz; and Nemat Safavi, from Ardebil and who has been detained for over three years.

Under Iranian law lavat is “punishable by death so long as both the active and passive partners are mature, of sound mind, and have acted of free will” — something that not only conflicts with the boys’ age at the time of the alleged ‘offenses’, but also a gross violation of international law, which forbids, under any circumstance, the executive of juvenile offenders.

In 2008, the Deputy Attorney General of Iran announced that Iranian judicial authorities would ban the juvenile death penalty for non-murder-related offenses, effective immediately, pending parliamentary approval. Iran has signed two international treaties on the protection of children.

Nemat Safavi is part of the list maintained by Amnesty International of minors tried and awaiting execution in Iran. The European Parliament, the UN, and the Iranian Nobel Peace Prize winner Shirin Ebadi have all urged Iran to end juvenile executions.

What can I do

    * alerting the media (there has been virtually no media coverage)
    * contacting Iranian embassies (it has links)

It also has an avatar (’I ? Nemat’) for use in social media.

Spanish, French and Italian gay sites as well as some progressives in those countries and a few elsewhere have been reporting their cases.

IRQR are asking for donations which they say will help with the legal case in Iran. They are also calling for “all human rights organizations to take up this urgent cause. We ask that people write, fax, call, or email to Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, and any LGBT and/or international organizations to support Nemat and vigorously oppose his execution and the laws against homosexuals.”
