The novel which has already enjoyed a successful run in Canada and in Europe with its French edition is the winner of the 2005 Prix Gros sel in Belgium.

«An unconventional story – part tale of love, part murder mystery – told through a series of time shifts which act like puzzle pieces, revealing the whole picture, bit by bit.»
Ralph Higgins, Wayves and Outlooks magazines

«Denis-Martin Chabot’s first novel is quite a departure from déjà vu.»
Paul-François Sylvestre, L’Express (Toronto)

The book launch will be hosted by Michael Leshner who, along with his spouse Michael Stark, spearheaded the fight to change the marriage laws in Canada. Carrie Chestnutt will be providing music. Hors d’oeuvres will be served.

Chabot will talk briefly about his book. Afterwards, he will be available for signing copies.

From the Publisher:

STARbooks Press is proud to release Mangames, written by Denis-Martin Chabot, a disturbing and scary story that takes place in Montreal during the 1980s.

A group of men give free rein to their sexual appetites, while coming to terms with their emotional and psychological needs. Although for them the 1980s was a time of innocence and freedom, in that Garden of Eden, there was a snake, known as the Predator.

Drawing on his background as a journalist, Denis-Martin Chabot relays a disturbing story, adapted from actual news stories of sexual predators in Montreal. It is at a bar in that city, also called Mangames, where the predator in Chabot’s story finds his victims.

Keep the lights on because this novel will give you nightmares; you won’t want to go out at night alone again.
